The first thing to check is the transmission receiver on the inside wall of your garage.
Garage door opener will not close with remote.
Quickly test the quality of your opener s wiring by following these steps.
Check to be sure the antenna is attached and if it is not hanging down from the unit move the antenna so it can catch the beam being sent by the remote.
But if the remote is activated very very close to the unit while standing on a ladder and putting remote right next to the antenna and unit then it works and it activates closes the door even while the light is on.
One sends a beam of infra red light to the other.
This is one of the sensors.
There are several reasons why your remote might not operate correctly.
If your garage door won t open with remote activation the problem could be the result of an expired battery in your remote transmitter.
If the remote works from inside the garage but not from the outside then most likely the antenna wire on the garage door opener itself may be damaged broken or not in visible range.
If anything interrupts this beam of light the garage door will not close and the ceiling light on the opener mechanism will flash as mentioned in the previous step.
One of the most common causes is rfi or radio frequency interference.
If the beam is broken or the sensors are misaligned the sensor light s will go off and subsequently tell the operator not close the door.
When you manually push the button on the receiver does the door activate.
Unplug the opener and disconnect the two wires from the motor reconnect your machine to power then clear its memory and reprogram all remote controls unplug the device for a second time and reconnect the control wiring to.
This also disables any remotes or wireless keypads.
A garage door opener remote is a convenient tool but when it only works at close distances or stops working altogether it can be frustrating.
