Don t just assume that if the path is clear that the sensors are ok.
Garage door opener wont close even though nothing in way.
Could also try disconnecting the door from the chain should be a pull cord that allows this.
If your garage door won t close all the way the problem could be due to a blocked photo eye.

First check the sensor lights.
