Genie Garage Door Opens But Does Not Close

You should now be able to operate the door using the genie garage door opener.

Check for and clear any obstructions in its way. Check for interference from adjacent photo eye sensors of any brand. Check garage door for binding. Pull emergency release cord and knob toward the motor.

If the problem persists check to see if the red safe t beam led indicator is blinking. Door starts down then stops before it is closed. If an operational problem exists and the garage door opener will not close the opener can be forced to close. Turn the close force dial in small increments until the garage door reaches the ground when you hit the close button on the remote.

Press and hold the wall console button until the garage door is completey closed. If it is be sure that the lenses are mounted five to six inches from the floor on either side of the garage door opening. Sometimes when a garage door won t open or close it does not actually mean there is anything wrong with the door your remote or even one of the opener assembly parts. You may need to give the cord a slight yank to reconnect.

Genie openers apply only limited force to the garage door during closing.
